Visit Acadia National Park!
One of the reasons we chose this location is the variety of possible activities and its spectacular beauty.
The wedding will be on the beach in front of a house we’ve rented for the occasion, and we will of course have bonfires and dancing, and there is also a jungle-gym for the wee-ones, BUT we encourage you to visit the area for a little longer than just the wedding day, as there is so much adventuring to be had!!!
Possible activities include (but are not limited to):
*Biking: either on the road or extensive carriage trails
*Hiking: a range of terrain, from easy climbs to steep scrambles, many of which include sections of ladders and caves
*Swimming: both in the ocean and in fresh water lakes and ponds
*Boating: kayaking, canoeing, sailing
*Rock climbing
*Visiting the main attractions in the park: Cadillac Mtn.(first place in the U.S. the sun touches each morning), Thunder Hole, Etc.
*Shopping or touring Bar Harbor
*Whale Watches, Puffin Tours, Heli tours and more, I’m sure
*Plus of course every manner of “beach day” fun!
Transportation on Mt. Desert Island:
You can drive, but there’s a much greener and lower-hassle option! From the town of Trenton, just 3.5 miles from the wedding venue, there is a free shuttle bus (the Island Explorer) which goes all over Mt. Desert Island, so folks need not worry about driving their car onto the island (it can be very crowded in August). If you want to enter the park (which we highly recommend), there is an entrance fee (which is less without a car):

Come and adventure with us!!
ALSO, if you play a musical instrument, please bring it! We hope that jam sessions will arise spontaneously from the gleeful atmosphere!
